Okay, there’s no denying I love chocolate. I think I need to eat chocolate as much as I need sunshine, some food and water to exist.
Recently though, we discovered that the chocolate chips we’d been using for years may have corn in them. We’d never had an issue with them before but then my husband, my daughter and I all reluctantly had to admit we were having our typical corn reaction after eating them.
So, I thought – simple, I’ll just find another company that makes an allergen free chocolate chip.
Only there was a problem.
It wasn’t so simple.
Finding an Allergen-Free Chocolate Chip
There are very few companies that make a truly allergen-free chocolate chip. They’re usually free of one allergen or two, but not usually all of the big four: gluten, dairy, corn and soy.
So for the past several months, I’ve been searching for an alternative. Finally, I found a company that is truly allergen-free.
Soy-Free Sales Chocolates
Soy-Free Sales (site works best in Firefox browser) as the name implies makes various soy-free products including chocolates, gourmet mixes and gum. We have purchased the Gourmet Mini Chocolate Chips. The chips are free of cholesterol, soy, dairy, sodium, trans fat, gluten, corn, potato, egg and nuts. We purchase it in the larger size bags to save on shipping costs.
What Happens to A Couple of Crazies Who Haven’t Had Chocolate in a While?
Well, since the chocolate chips have arrived I’ve been on a chocolate bender. The first day they came my daughter and I ate so many after we realized they didn’t affect us, that we got a chocolate overload headache. Still laughing about that.
I ordered just a small amount to try them, but then placed a full order knowing we can safely eat them. And did I mention – not only are they gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and corn-free, they also taste unbelievably, chocolaty good!!! What can I say, I love chocolate.
