If This is What Gluten-Free Tastes Like, I Can Eat Gluten-Free!

Recently I developed a gluten-free recipe for Marble Cake. My daughter Kelly had so much fun swirling the chocolate through the vanilla batter. She loved the taste and wanted me to make it again for her birthday cake.

I topped the cake with the Vanilla Frosting recipe from Celeste's Best Gluten-Free, Allergen-Free Recipes and decorated it.

Kelly had it in her head that she wanted a cake decorated like a pickup truck. I wasn’t too sure how I was going to do that, but I think overall it wound up turning out pretty good.

That night, a new friend Kelly had recently met, Jessie, came over to celebrate with us and have some cake. I never know how new people are going to react to eating gluten-free, allergen-free food.

Even though I don't think our foods taste any differently from gluten-filled foods, so many only know about gluten-free foods from what they see portrayed on television. And unfortunately, gluten-free foods are usually the butt of some bad jokes on most tv shows.

Jessie had told Kelly she was interested in knowing more about gluten-free foods and wondered, too, if following a gluten-free diet might make her feel better but had doubts about what it would taste like and if she would like it.

After eating a few bites of cake though she announced,

“If this is what gluten-free tastes like, I can eat gluten-free!”

I think so many people think that gluten-free and allergen-free foods can’t taste good. I'd have to strongly disagree.

Gluten-Free Foods Can Taste Incredibly Delicious!

There's no reason anymore to settle for anything less than incredibly delicious foods when it comes to eating gluten-free and allergen-free.

What do you say? Isn't it time we let go of the images of cardboard and bricks when we think of gluten-free foods and broke the myth that gluten-free foods can't taste incredibly good?
